We all know the top-tier journals in our fields, and we've all been cautioned against predatory journals. But what about that ever-growing gray area of special issues and journals that may or may not be reputable? This presentation by librarian David Davisson discusses some of the issues to consider when publishing with for-profit open-access academic publishers, and unpacks some of the current strains on academic publishing (like impact factor, citation cartels, and Al).
